Our team has been working on this in-law attic suite for some time, and it’s so exciting to see the finished product. The homeowners wanted to utilize their attic space better and decided to build an in-law suite that included two bedrooms, one bath, a spacious living room, a kitchenette, and even a laundry nook.
By installing skylights, we brightened the space beautifully. We also used light-toned paints, hardwood floors, and detailed trim work to create an attic oasis to be loved for years and years to come. The homeowners also did a great job of decorating the space, so it’s comfy yet sophisticated.

Thanks for following along, The McDonald Contracting Team
This basement remodel is quite remarkable! Not only was our team at McDonald Contracting able to increase the living space for these homeowners, but they also added a beautiful new bathroom. By remodeling the basement and adding a new bathroom the homeowners can live more comfortably while increasing the value of their home. It’s a win-win!
Thinking about giving your basement a makeover? In the United States, on average, finishing a basement will give you a return of 70 to 75% of your investment. For example, if you spend $1000 you would increase the value of your home by $700. So not only do you get a cool new TV Room/Teen Room/Man Cave/Crafting Corner (you get the idea) but you also improve the overall value of the home. Something to think about for sure.
Let us know if you have any questions or need help with your own basement remodel! We’re here for you.
Walking into this kitchen is like walking into an HGTV set… needless to say, it’s gorgeous!
Our McDonald Contracting team helped the homeowners create a more stylish, modern, and user-friendly kitchen. We opened up the kitchen height by hiding the soffits, which were being used to hide plumbing and electrical cords. Once we opened it up we were able to move around the appliances to create a better flow. We also updated all the kitchen countertops and cabinets and added in custom shelves for better storage. With every new project there is always a before, but in most cases, we forget to take photos and focus on the after. So when our client, Matthew, sent us these before photos, we were thrilled.
Our McDonald Contracting team created a more modern kitchen by knocking down a wall to open up the dining area, used more neutral colors, installed white cabinets, and used gray floor tiles with white tiled backsplash. Everything came together perfectly in this kitchen remodel and we think it looks fantastic.
The homeowner’s we’re also pleased – “Thanks again for all the work you guys did. We’re really happy with the outcome.”

What do you think of this kitchen remodel?! Do you love it as much as we do?
This kitchen is what design dreams are made of! From the huge island, that comfortably accommodates 6 people, to the huge windows that look out onto a pond to the added wet bar this kitchen is divine in every sense of the way.
This project started with a gut remodel and an addition on the homeowners first floor; adding an additional 600 sq feet, a new kitchen, new deck and a finished basement. We designed the kitchen to complement it’s beautiful outdoor surroundings, using large windows in every corner and keeping it open and bright. In the entryway room, we added an array of cubbies to create a useful and beautiful space for the family.
We caught up the homeowner, Kate, and here is what she had to say about working with our team –
“Ed and James were great to work with! We also had a great experience with Brian and Kenny from McDonald Electric. They are very responsive. We lived in the house during the construction and everyone managed! Ed worked with us to minimize any additional costs and stuck to his budget. We LOVE our new kitchen, deck, mudroom! They transformed our house into what we hope will serve our family for many years to come. There were several times that something was installed incorrectly and after we communicated that to Ed and his team, they fixed it. We are happy with the final product!” – Kate
