Tips for Placing Electrical Outlets

Whether you are remodeling your kitchen, building a new home, renovating your basement, or just adding in some more electrical outlets, we are here to provide you with some guidance! Here are some tips we have noticed that have been of great help to clients in the past to make sure you have all of the outlets you need!

  1. Plan for the holidays
    • Think about the important holidays that you and your family celebrate that will require the use of an electrical outlet! For example, if you do not want to run an extension cord throughout your living room for the Christmas season, think about where the tree will go and place an outlet in that area.
  2. Make sure to include exterior outlets
    • Many people do not consider the importance of having exterior outlets when remodeling their home, and it is so helpful to have more than one! Think about the areas on your deck or patio that you hang out by to put outlets by and by the garage.
  3. Utilize the side of your  kitchen island
    • Having an outlet on your kitchen island can make it easier to plug in appliances when you are cooking.
  4. Don’t forget about your closets
    • For vacuums and appliances, a helpful spot to plug them in might be the spot where they are kept when they are not being used, like a linen or coat closet!
