For this project, we took an older home and transformed it into a beautiful, brand-new custom home designed around how today’s homeowners want to live. From the fully finished basement and spacious attic to the stunning primary suite, open-concept kitchen, and thoughtfully designed living spaces, we built every detail with comfort, functionality, and style in mind. Our team at McDonald Contracting loved bringing this vision to life and creating a home that feels completely new while making the most of the property itself.

From Dated to Beautiful: A Stunning Kitchen Transformation in Andover, MA

Our team at McDonald Contracting transformed this dated kitchen into a bright, timeless, and functional space designed around the homeowners’ needs. The original kitchen featured dark oak cabinetry, dated flooring, and a layout that no longer worked for the space. We replaced it with custom cabinetry, a large center island, beautiful countertops, updated lighting, and thoughtful details throughout.

The result is a kitchen that feels brighter, more open, and much more welcoming for everyday life.

First Floor Renovation Designed for a Growing Family

Even contractors need a home that works for their family. When the owner of McDonald Contracting, Ed, and his family of five began to outgrow their existing first-floor layout, it was time for a home renovation that prioritized functionality, organization, and everyday living. The project focused on reimagining the home’s main living space by expanding the dining area to better accommodate family meals and gatherings, relocating the bathroom to a more private location, and incorporating a custom mudroom nook to help manage the daily flow of backpacks, shoes, coats, and sports equipment. This home renovation showcases how thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship can transform a house into a space that truly supports a growing family’s needs.
